Breathing Exercise to Reduce Stress

Do this before your next presentation, big meeting, or talk with your boss.

The Physiological Sigh (or “Physi Breath”) reduces stress in 40-60 seconds.

The technique is to take two breaths in through the nose (to fill the lungs) and exhale out through the mouth. The breathing exercise is from Huberman Labs at Stanford Research. The two breaths in help fill the alveoli around the lungs, which carry excess carbon dioxide. The exhalation through the mouth helps release any excess carbon dioxide that could be stored in the body from stress.
